Friends of New Hope India - Australia seeks ongoing sponsorship for the care and education of children and young adults supported by New Hope India. Bhavani, pictured, has been sponsored since coming to New Hope India as a baby. Now in 2026 she is excelling in her studies and has been accepted into a high standard Government High School.
If you would like to know more about ongoing sponsorship opportunities please get in touch below.

The New Hope Hospital has a well-equipped eye testing centre with a trained team specialising in eye-related diagnostics. The New Hope Field Team goes door-to-door in remote tribal villages to detect and screen for refractive errors, cataracts, pterygium, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma in the early stages and provides treatment to prevent permanent blindness.
The New Hope Field Team prepares each patient for surgery, including transport to a private hospital and companionship while they are there. After the surgery, New Hope transports patients back to the New Hope Hospital for after care.
It costs AU$87 to fund one eye surgery for cataract and pterygium from identification of need, through to after care. Donations for part or fully funded surgeries are welcome.

Love Bundles are a care package that includes self-care products such as a comb, custom leprosy sandals, bath towel, soap, coconut oil and scented powder.
New Hope India currently provides an alternative Love Bundle to eye surgery patients that includes rice, onions, potatoes, dahl, oil, salt and soap. The provision of food allows them to take the required 15 days off work to recover from the surgery.
It costs AU$25 to create one Love Bundle.

Over many years through fundraising events and the generosity of donors, Friends of New Hope India - Australia has contributed funds towards many diverse projects.
Currently we are seeking funds for a Medical Recovery Centre, solar fruit drying equipment and chickens.
The Medical Recovery Centre will provide for our Namaste family who live with multiple disabilities. The Centre will provide allied health support to the residents and be linked to the Multipurpose Centre that supports Tribal Women.

Friends of New Hope India - Australia supports New Hope India’s vision of becoming sustainable through fundraising, donations and sponsorship. We are run entirely by volunteers, including Chairperson Beverley Selten, pictured left with Nandhini on a 2026 trip to India. All of the funds we raise go towards:
